The Tierpark Berlin has been open to the public since the summer. Weihnachten im Tierpark just ensures an extended opening time of the Tierpark with a special program. The positive experiences from the last months – also with the individually implemented measures – offer a proven basis for our extended security concept.
Equally helpful is the fact that the concept of Weihnachten im Tierpark itself already takes into account the fundamentally new organizational requirements. As an open-air event at a spacious location with staggered admission times and actively avoided crowd jams, it is a very well realizable event format in these times.
Our extended and comprehensive safety and hygiene concept is implemented and accompanied by trained personnel and exceeds the requirements of the regulations of the federal state of Berlin. We make sure that the “wonderful excursion into a shining winter world” with all its inspirations and surprises is not diminished by compliance with the rules of conduct.
With the explanations listed below, we go into our hygiene concept separately.
This year, attending events requires mutual consideration, and we ask for your understanding in advance for the additional measures required.
Together with our approximately 700 employees, we are especially looking forward to this year’s new edition of Weihnachten im Tierpark and your visit. The general cancellation of events this year has had a great impact on the operations of our event partners and all service and technical companies involved.
Key points of our safety concept
On the entire event area the distance regulation of 1.50 meters to other visitors applies. This does not apply to family members, members of your own household or a maximum of one other household.
Highly frequented areas such as catering and sanitary facilities are regularly disinfected. There will also be sufficient stations for hand disinfection distributed throughout the entire site.
The circular route and all neuralgic areas are organized in a one way system. Opposing traffic is thus avoided.
The safe and responsible organization also includes our gastronomic offer. Together with experienced catering partners, the hygiene concept for the gastronomic areas is adapted to the current situation. Where a responsible operation of the gastronomy does not seem possible, our visitors have to do without it.
Cough- and sneeze-etiquette
When coughing and sneezing, we ask you not to hold your hand in front of your mouth and nose, but to cough or sneeze into the crook of your arm or into a tissue. Please keep at least one meter distance from other people and turn away, then wash your hands thoroughly.
The regulations are communicated in a comprehensive and understandable way – from the moment the ticket is purchased until the visitor leaves the Tierpark area. On the website, in all disciplines of the customer dialogue and with a signage concept on the grounds, we guarantee complete and simple information for our customers.
Compulsary masks in sensitive areas
Wearing a mask is generally recommended on the grounds of Weihnachten im Tierpark. At neuralgic points such as entrance and exit areas, sanitary facilities or gastronomy, we point this out to our visitors by appropriate signage. In these areas the wearing of a mask is obligatory. This applies to both indoor and outdoor areas. Depending on current developments in the winter months and official regulations, we reserve the right to implement a general obligation to wear a mask on the entire area.
Traceability of contacts is ensured at Weihnachten im Tierpark. The promoter uses computerized, personalized ticketing, so that the names and contact details of all visitors are available. The requirements of the authorities in this respect are observed, as well as the data protection regulations according to the DSGVO.
Organized arrival and staggered admission
The entrance windows, in which a limited number of visitors can enter Weihnachten im Tierpark with their tickets, will be shortened from 60 to 30 minutes compared to previous years. This will reduce the number of visitors arriving intermittently and avoid queues. This significantly shortened time limit for the admission time windows also allows for better control of the arrival.
In order to trace possible chains of infection, we as organizers are obliged to record the names and contact details of our visitors. We use a computer-controlled, personalized ticketing system. In doing so, we comply with the relevant requirements of the authorities as well as the data protection regulations according to the DSGVO. Children’s tickets must also be personalized and must contain all the necessary information. Only a personalized ticket entitles you to enter our event.
This year the capacity will be reduced, which will lower the number of visitors. This step will make it easier to comply with the central requirement of maintaining distance in all areas of the event.
In order to avoid queues at the entrance, we ask you to purchase your tickets in the online presale rather than on site at the box office. You can get the cheapest tickets online and buy them in a few easy steps on your PC, tablet or smartphone. In this way, you can secure your preferred admission time window without any stress and help to simplify the organization at the entrance.
No ice rink operation
As a responsible operation of ice rinks cannot be guaranteed in the current situation, we will refrain from operating our ice rink this year as an exception. We hope for your understanding.
Additional trained personnel
Additional personnel will be deployed throughout the entire site to control the flow of visitors in order to avoid any form of congestion. The employees are trained in how to deal with the staff and with regard to the overall concept. A hygiene officer ensures that the measures decided upon are implemented.
